Climbing is one of the most interesting things which most of us would have done in our life time. For instance we would have at least at some point of time climbed a tree to pluck a fruit or climbed the roof using a ladder and so on. Some of us would have even gone on a trek to a mountain, while a few would have had the habit of climbing ropes and likewise we would have plenty of these stuffs. Most of the time this could have been an adventure and we would have enjoyed most of these.

While we have done all these, most of us are scared when it comes to height. However, we love to watch movies related to climbing. One such movie which I can never forget in my life time is Cliffhanger which I watched recently featuring on my television powered by Time Warner Cable. The movie show extreme stunts about climbing and actions which make people tremble fearing the heights. Likewise there are many such movies that portray climbing like Tom Cruise in MI2. All these are unforgettable.

Apart from all these movies, there are entertainment programs as well which people who climb on top of the a building trying to balance on a rope that is tied from one building to the other, most reality show portray various kinds of climbing and the people who participate, we find them doing it with all excitement. These are interesting to watch however not worthy enough to execute. For a person to climb heights it involves a lot of courage and passion. There are a lot of people who relate climbing to strength. However, when we talk about climbing, we should understand that climbing is all about balancing and know how to reposition your body in a given space. It is about creativity, learning to adapt to what the rock has to offer. It could be a whole-body exercise and though your upper body gets a fair share of grunt work, your legs and feet are your most important instrument for upward motion. It requires concentration and one has to overcome fears to do so.

If you have all the courage to see heights, then climbing can be done by anybody. I personally have seen old people also climbing huge trees without any difficulty. There are many things interesting about climbing. To start with it gets you to see lots of lovely places and will definitely give you a unique viewpoint on the world below you. Also, you can discover many things about yourself and learn from people whom you climb with. Climbing can be both an individualistic and social sport. Say for example, when you are climbing a rock you can only count on your skills to get to the top. If you do fall however, you'll have to trust your climbing partner with your life. However while climbing great heights you cannot make a single mistake.

Learning to climb is very much like learning to ride a bike or ski down a snowy slope. Once learnt the basics can never be forgotten forget, however, to become a professional it would require years practice to perfect them. Climbing involves various techniques. A few games about climbing are bouldering, indoor climbing, free rock climbing, solo climbing aid climbing, ice climbing and alpine climbing. We have seen many people climbing and performing various stunts. One needs to be very careful because solo Climbing is certainly the most dangerous game and reserved for the truly skilled only. Since climbing without any kind of protection, falling is simply not an option. Most climbers do not climb without a rope even they have to satisfy their ego. Solo climbing is all about knowing your own limits and trusting your good judgment. Only a select few choose to climb unprotected and if they do it's a very conscious choice.
